Poverty is rarely one problem. AMHE responds to immediate needs — food and practical assistance — while walking with families toward something steadier.

Help is given with dignity, never as a handout, because every person carries the image of God.

That work is often plain and unglamorous: grain, staples, and household essentials carried to families in a hard season, then follow-up visits to see how they are actually doing. Relief comes first, but the goal is always the same — that a family is standing on firmer ground the next time we come around.
